In 649 CE the newly crowned Tang Emperor Gaozong marches to the battlefield to be ambushed. At this critical moment when thousands of arrows are shot at the emperor, Mei-niang has rushed to his majesty’s rescue and saved the life of the emperor but she herself has been shot and injured. With the help of the soldiers and Kungfu monks the Emperor returns victoriously with Mei-niang in his arms.
